5 Ways to Reset your Mindset in under 5 Minutes

1. Meditate

I know it seems like everyone these days is trying to convince you to meditate – and with good reason. It is the quickest way to a mindset reset – spend a few minutes in silence and you will feel renewed and rejuvenated. Whenever I feel grumpy (if I’m feeling proactive), I do a quick meditation and it turns my mood around 180 degrees. You can find all of the guided meditations you’ll ever need on YouTube.

2. Positive Affirmations

This will improve your mood and boost your confidence 100%. Affirmations are powerful positive statements that usually begin with “I am..”, “I have..” or “I feel…”. Try saying to yourself (in your head, out loud or in the mirror) things like “I am strong and confident” and “I have the skills to conquer my goals” and “I feel excited and blessed about my life” and try to not be in a better mood, I dare you.

3. Focus on your Breath

We often spend all day shallow breathing – what happens when you utilise your full capacity for breath? You feel fkng great. Practice taking deep breaths; filling first your belly then your chest with air, pausing at the top of the inhale and then exhaling out in an audible sigh. Do this for a few minutes and you’ll feel refreshed and renewed.

grateful

4. Saying I am grateful for…

Expressing gratitude literally lifts our vibration to a higher and lighter frequency, meaning we will feel lighter and more calm instantly. Spend 5 minutes thinking of (or saying) all of the things that you’re grateful for. Pause after each one and really embody that feeling before moving on. Sometimes when I do this I actually cry of happiness and I always get really strong feelings of happiness and calm afterwards.

journal

5. Journal your feelings

I know, everyone says this. It’s the new drink a cup of warm lemon water as soon as you wake up. But journaling or writing down your feelings can help you organise your thoughts, help you release these thoughts and let them go to make room for new, positive thoughts. Combo this with #3 and journal your gratitude and try not to cry happy tears.
